That unforgettable December 12th 2016 we celebrated Alum´s birthday with the greatest explosion of joy you could imagine…

Surrounded by great friends and lots of funny games in the scenic natural surroundings of the “Rio de la Plata”, I dedicated so much energy preparing, producing and enjoying that Great Celebration for my Little Princess that I had no time to think about mine…

A few days later… if someone had asked me how I expected to celebrate my own birthday (and by coincidence; “New Year”)… the last thing I would have said would have been “I Guess… May be standing at the parking lot of a Shopping Mall with 9 degrees below zero, 3 bags, 2 backpacks, skis, guitar, Alum falling asleep in my arms and hitch-hiking towards Hokkaido -1000 km north of Yamagata…-”

However, at 9 PM on last December 31st that was our reality…, and there were no signs that it would change much in the remaining time till the end of the year…

-“Who in the world is going to stop for us at this time in the middle of this snowfall to take us to the opposite island when everybody is rushing to join his own family; surely a few blocks from here…?!” -I thought while looking at the sky in search of a flying saucer…-

But as well as a thunderbolt falls at the time and place least expected… the same thing can happen with the Most Magical Encounter of your whole life…

I will never forget the moment in which that white van stopped at 2 meters from us, opened the front window and the feminine, sensual and cheerful voice of Mai spoke; “どこに行きますか。“…which in our phonetic alphabet would sound something like… “Doko ni Iki masu ka?” and with our fledgling local language we learned to interpret as… “Where are you trying to go? “…

I thought about replying “I am just trying to find out where is the celebration of my birthday going on…” But I didn’t know how to translate that to Japanese, so I went for an easier option…

The first thing that came to my mind was to say that we were looking for an “Onsen” (mystical and legendary Spot of thermal waters that are abundant in Japan)

Mai answered, “I have one in my house… Get in the van and let´s see what we do!

I was so surprised that for a moment I thought I had fallen asleep among so many bags and backpacks while waiting for someone to stop, and that conversation was only a part of my dream…

Of course I still don´t discard that option… but if so… This has to be the longest, most beautiful and fantastic dream in the world… Since by March 12th 2017, i’m still living into it… and I definitely invite you to join us…!!!

After all…

what else is life, if not a long dream to which we give more credit than to what happens while we sleep?

Everything I´ll tell from here on, is part of this wonderful “Real Fantasy” of which I still didn´t wake up, and whose most sublime and brilliant moments are so many and so intense, that I will dedicate a special chapter to each of them, moved by a simple desire…

To Share with you the infinite joy that fills me up since that…; my Best Surprise Birthday Party ever, and remind you that if at any time you believe that the only way out of a difficult situation is to look up to the sky in search of a flying saucer… don’t refrain from doing so…

The most wonderful thing in the world may be about to happen to you…

If you feel it´s aproaching…

…Stop looking up and hop on!!!

Feliz Cumple!

新年明けましておめでとうございます!

Happy New Year!

shin’nen’ ake mashi te omedeto- gozai masu!

-Would you like to add your own “greetings”?

-Go ahead !! We´re still celebrating over here!!!
